![]() To answer your question, yes all drivers must be connected to receive 5V pulses from the arduino, a constant high voltage connection from the power supply, and share a ground connection with both in a parallel relationship. Both drivers operate with the same pin input style though, so luckily the wiring logic is transferable. A larger driver will be more expensive and require manual creation of the power/signal/ground circuit, but will require less aggressive cooling and suffer less EM noise and save you a bunch of headaches down the line. ![]() ![]() Still, if you're a beginner, it's probably the best place to start. That video is an A4988 driver, which cheap and works for small motors, but I found the current adjustment screw on it was finnicky and they tended to fail quickly. No worries - I remember starting with CNC and the hours spent learning this shit on my own.
